This black and white photo of a Great Blue Heron gives the impression of a studio portrait to me. From the profile of the head to the perfect bend in the legs as he stands on the branch of a fallen birch tree near the waters edge you would think he and I had collaborated for hours to make this photo. Actually I did wait a number of hours in this spot hoping he would get to this particular area where he was perfectly framed by the branches of the Birch tree. A once in a lifetime pose!! And a lesson in patience. Life comes at us so fast these days, with technology compressing time at an ever-greater pace. But we need to remember to slow down and enjoy the simple things that life offers. Often, Llife often doesn’t reveal the inner beauty of something unless we take the time to wait for it.

Included with the order is a cleat hanger, which floats the image 3/4” from the wall.
